CASTLEROCK MUSIC ACADEMY’S TERMS AND CONDITIONS

FREE LESSONS

To be eligible for a free trial music lesson, the student must be no younger than 6 years old, and not have been enroled with Castlerock Music Academy previously.
Eligible students are entitled to one free 30 minute lesson, on any instrument, with any suitable available teacher.

There is no obligation to sign up, nor will you be pressured to continue lessons.

NEW/RETURNING STUDENTS

If a student has a free trial lesson or is returning after an extended break, a $30 enrolment/admin fee will apply.

MAKE-UP LESSONS/RE-SCHEDULING

Each parent/student makes a booking for lessons on the same day and time each week, and Castlerock is not obliged to provide make-ups for students who cannot attend.

Due to the Federal Government’s change in legislation in regard to work policies, lessons will be locked in on the clients chosen days and times, as certain requirements for hiring employees need to be met. Should you wish to permanently change your chosen day and time, we require that you give us 2 weeks notice by email to Lessons@Castlerock.net.au Your tuition fee reserves you a specific agreed time for you or your child’s lesson. Lessons missed by the student are forfeited and will still be charged for. It will not be rescheduled or changed to a different time.

The only exceptions to the above term will be illness/injuries with a medical certificate or death in the family.
An absence because of illness without a doctor’s certificate will be forfeited.

As Castlerock Music Academy continues to grow, and due to the high standard of our Teachers, whose availability we respect, Castlerock Music Academy reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if your child’s regular teacher is unable to teach due to sickness or a prior booking for a contractual performance.
All lessons cancelled by teachers will be rescheduled.

DUTY OF DISCLOSURE

Clients are obliged to inform the Admin staff when applying for a free trial of any mental or physical conditions that the student may have, so that we can best help format the clients learning, and avoid any confrontational situations.

SICKNESS

Parents are asked to refrain from sending their children to lessons with any kind of contagious health condition, just as they would require to do at school.
Every teacher teaches many other students in the course of the week, so that any kind of infection can easily be passed on to each and every child and their families.
Castlerock will similarly provide a substitute teacher, as they do in Primary and High schools, should one of our teaching staff become sick.

PAYMENT

Payments arranged are all automated by Direct Debit, unless otherwise authorized with the office, alternative methods are available through a Funding agency or by private arrangement. You cannot deduct the term tuition fee for any particular week without approval from Head of Administration. Such action reflects disrespect to our agreement and our teachers’ commitment. Failed payments on a regular basis may result in suspension of lessons. It is the responsibility of the parent or paying customer to read the conditions illustrated on the Payment form given out at the Trial Lesson, to be aware of any transaction fees, and set-up fees that may apply with EziDebit.

It is the sole responsibility of the parents/student to checking that payments have been successfully deducted for lessons, and should their be any failed payments, due to lack of funds or in a situation where a parent or student has provided incorrect bank or credit card details, they are liable to pay the outstanding amount back to the Academy immediately.
